traditional vs fitness based
i have heard a lot of good things and bad things about both traditional and fitness based physical education. but witch one is they way to go? i think it is important to teach students who to play traditional games so they can interact with society when it comes to sports, playing or watching them. i also think it is very important to have a fitness based physical education class because it is our job as physical educators to teach the students who to get in shape and even better stay in shape through their adult hood. a combination of both would be great but can that be done.
tech rooms
i have heard a lot about new tech rooms for physical education. rooms that students can go in and be physically active playing games. u can use a wii and play interactive games, such as boxing. their are other things u can do like interactive bikes. they are bikes that are stationary but u can watch a screen as u ride on a trail. these rooms are fantastic ideas for schools to have and could always open it to the community as well
Technology
i am not very good with technology but i have learnt alot in tech pete class. i feel comfortable with power point ofter completing my e folio. i use word every day for typing papers and i have begun to use exel as well. the class is very helpful in many ways i will be continuing expanding my knowladge of computer.
Reflection on student Observation
i observerd students from New Castle High School. the athletic students were very happy to be in physical education class, but other students were not. the ones who were participated fully and worked very had. the other students who were not as interrested in physical education just sat on the bleachers. i can't image having a physical education class and more then have of the students dont' want to participate.
